Crosspoint Power Intelliswitch
Maximize the number of kilns that you can run with a given power capacity !
The crosspoint power intelligent switch performs power management allowing you to manage multiple kilns and power circuits
with a PC software interface. Each kiln is given a time slice where it gets the power from the line. During this interval the kiln
controller turns on the heating elements some portion. Monitoring software watches how much of the interval is utilized. If
the utilization percentage is low part of the interval can be re-allocated to another kiln. Kilns on the ramp up or set at maximum
temperatures can be switched to a power line that they use exclusively.
Features
*Run multiple kilns: manages power allowances to maximize the number of kilns that can run off a circuit without popping the breaker.
Ovens on the ramp down require less power, such as glass annealers.
*Run high current kilns off low current circuits: The controllers have phase control. You can use a 45 amp kiln on a 30 amp circuit,
it just won't reach maximum temperature. Typical sequence would allow for full temperature
to be reached by using the high current circuit then switching the kiln to a lower current circuit
when it goes into a ramp down or annealing phase.
